On December 10, 1813 American Forces decided to burn Newark. 400 refugees watched their homes burn down. They sought shelter at the Fort and Butlers Barracks. Eventually the British seized control of the town. For his part in the burning of Newark, McClure was relieved of his command and dismissed from the U.S Army

Shadow Clouds
High velocity winds created some very dramatic clouds. The dark and light contrast gives the photo an eerie feel.
